Career
In Calgary, Alberta, Hall began playing hockey on a small scale. He played until his family relocated to Kingston, Ontario, when he was thirteen. In the 2004–05 season, Hall and the North East Canucks won a Bantam AAA Calgary city title. Hall played Minor Midget and Bantam hockey with the Greater Kingston Predators of the ODMHA league during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons.
The ODMHA Midget AAA All-Star team selected him. Following the season, the Windsor Spitfires selected Hall as their second overall pick in the 2007 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Priority Selection.
Hall made his OHL debut in 2007–08, finishing third in team scoring with 84 points, including a club-high 45 goals and 39 assists. He received two OHL Player of the Week awards in March (March 3 and March 10). Following the season, he was named the OHL and CHL Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, Hall debuted in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires. Hall was chosen to play for the OHL in the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge during the 2008–09 campaign. He finished with 90 points after scoring 38 goals and dishing out 52 assists. Windsor had a great season on the ice, winning both the Memorial Cup and the OHL Championship.
Hall was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on January 24, 2025, in a three-team trade involving the Colorado Avalanche. In a 5–2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on March 23, Hall recorded his second of the season and his sixth career hat trick.
