Career
It was announced when Smith first joined the team that he would take over the no. 6 guernsey from Luke Dahlhaus, who was leaving. Because of the Achilles tendon injury he sustained in his draft year, he missed a significant portion of the preseason. Smith made his AFL debut in the Western Bulldogs’ victory over the Sydney Swans in the first round of the 2019 AFL season, despite this setback.
