Alcaraz received a wild card and made his Challenger debut in the JC Ferrero Challenger in Villena in April 2019 at the age of 15. He defeated Jannik Sinner, a 17-year-old, in his debut encounter. He became the first player born in 2003 to win a Challenger match with this triumph. In the second round, he lost to eighth seed Lukáš Rosol in three sets.
