Career
In order to play collegiate baseball for the East Carolina Pirates, Yesavage enrolled at East Carolina University. With 34 appearances and a 4.50 earned run average (ERA), he was a relief pitcher during his first campaign. As a sophomore, he pitched to a 7–1 win–loss record, striking out 105 batters while maintaining a 2.61 ERA.
Yesavage was chosen to play for the Team USA Collegiate National Baseball Team following the season. At the start of his junior year, he was selected to the preseason first team All-American.
Yesavage, regarded as a top prospect in the 2024 Major League Baseball draft, was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 20th overall pick in the first round. He agreed to a $4.1 million signing bonus with the Blue Jays on August 1, 2024.
Yesavage began the 2025 minor league season with the Low-A Dunedin Blue Jays. The Vancouver Canadians elevated him to the High-A league in May after he went 3–0 with a 2.43 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 331⁄3 innings. Before being promoted to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Yesavage made four starts for the Canadians, pitching 171⁄3 innings with a 1.56 ERA and 33 strikeouts.
