Career
From 2015 to 2018, Crosby attended Eastern Michigan to play collegiate football. The only collegiate football program to offer Crosby a scholarship was Eastern Michigan. In 2017 and 2018, Crosby was chosen for the All-MAC first team.
In 2023, he was admitted into the school’s Ring of Honor. After Crosby donated $1 million to the program, Rynearson Stadium’s playing field was renamed “Crosby Field” in 2024.
Crosby became the first current NFL player to have a collegiate football personnel post when he was appointed assistant general manager of the Eastern Michigan football team on April 14, 2025.
In the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, Crosby was chosen by the Oakland Raiders. In the first week, Crosby made his debut against the Denver Broncos, contributing six tackles to the team’s 24–16 victory. Crosby recorded his first career sack on Chase Daniel during the team’s 24–21 victory over the Chicago Bears in week five. In their 17–10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in week 11, Crosby sacked Ryan Finley four times, including once with a strip sack that teammate Maurice Hurst Jr. recovered. Crosby was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
The team put Crosby on the reserve/COVID-19 list on August 6, 2020, and he became active on August 14.
Crosby recorded his first two sacks of the season on Cam Newton in the 36–20 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 3. Crosby recorded his first sack on Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes during the Raiders’ 40–32 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5. Crosby blocked two field goals and once sacked Drew Lock in a 32–31 victory over the Broncos in Week 17. Crosby’s performance earned him the title of AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He finished the season with one pass defended, 39 total tackles, and seven sacks.
Crosby’s two-sack performance against the Baltimore Ravens in a 26–23 victory earned him the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award. Crosby recorded another two-sack performance against the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
Crosby struggled with an ankle injury he suffered in Week 2 that persisted throughout the season. Prior to the Raiders’ Week 15 game against the Atlanta Falcons, he was declared out. On December 14, it was revealed that he will have surgery to treat the injury, which would probably put an end to his season. Crosby tied T. J. Watt for the league lead with 17 tackles for loss this season, and he also recorded 7.5 sacks and 20 quarterback hits. Crosby has had 324 pressures since 2019, which is 40 more than the next-closest player, Nick Bosa.
