However, I’ve cleaned everything up now that I have more time, so I can return to full strength for the upcoming season.

In the 2009 Texas Longhorn football team’s 34–24 triumph, Shipley scored a touchdown off a Texas Tech punt, demonstrating his importance. In a home game against the UCF on November 7, 2009, Shipley caught 11 passes for a school record 273 yards. Shipley’s performance throughout the season enabled Texas to defeat Nebraska in the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game.
In the 13–12 victory, he caught seven catches for 71 yards, helping Texas advance to the 2010 BCS National Championship Game. Texas lost to top-ranked Alabama, 37–21, despite Shipley catching two touchdown passes during the game.
