Born on March 10, 1970, parents Barrie and Fran Bailey, Silvagni attended Methodist Ladies’ College in Melbourne as well as Tintern Grammar, which is located outside of the city. Before beginning her career in television, she worked as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly known as Price Waterhouse) and earned degrees in accounting and marketing from RMIT University and Swinburne University of Technology, respectively.
She began her career as an undergraduate at Price Waterhouse. From 1991 to 1993, she served as a spokesperson for the Grundy game show Sale of the Century, which was hosted by Glenn Ridge. Later, she appeared on the Nine Network lifestyle show Looking Good. In the late 1990s, she was also the first female anchor for Entertainment News on Foxtel.
