Career
Garside’s first of six Australian National Championship victories came in 2015. He participated in the 2018 Commonwealth Games and took home the gold in the men’s 60kg class.
As of 2021, Garside had won seven Australian national boxing championships.
Garside returned to amateur boxing to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris after turning pro after winning bronze at the 2020 Summer Olympics and going on to win three contests. After winning gold at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, he secured his spot.
Garside participated in the 63.5kg event at the 2024 Summer Olympics, losing on points in the Round of 16 against Hungarian Richárd Kovács.
